Design Tips
BE ORIGINAL! It is important to avoid the most common website cliches. Although they might look cool, they often hurt your website more than help.
Page fade-ins or effects often slow down the users computer and are morely annoying than amusing.
Excessive animated GIF can cause excessive strain on a browser's eyes, also very annoying.
Under construction signs should be kept to a minimum.. the World Wide Web is always under construction, your viewers don't need to be reminded on every page.
Staying up with technology is not always the best thing for your site. For example, you don't want a website that requires users to download a plugin (such as 3D Environments) or causes excessive CPU usage. Some exceptions are Java and Flash Animations, these both
have become an accepted technology for most browsers.
Try keeping your website compatible with screen resolutions of at least 800x600. Any larger and some users might have to horizontally scroll through your website to see content.
